Successfully completed all kinds of charter transportation tasks for disaster relief
In recent years, China Cargo Airlines, to which Eastern Air Lines (EAL) is affiliated, has successfully completed a number of charter plane transportation, such as delivering China's assistance of emergent humanitarian relief supplies to Ebola-affected areas in West Africa, to Ecuador in South America after the earthquake, to Bangladesh and to Cuba after hurricanes. It fulfilled the social responsibility of central state-owned enterpriseand have been highly praised by relevant state departments.
On August 10, 2014, the company successfully completed the first task of transporting the humanitarian relief supplies from China to aid the Ebola-affected areas in West Africa. In this task, the health relief supplies of 85 tons in total were transported to Conakry in Guinea, Freetown in Sierra Leone and Monrovia in Liberia. It really helped the countries in West Africa to resist the Ebola disease and cope with the common threat faced by human beings. The company was highly praised by the Ministry of Commerce and the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
On September 17, 2014, the company fulfilled the second task of transporting the humanitarian relief supplies from China to aid the Ebola-affected areas in West Africa. The health relief supplies of 105 tons were transported to Freetown in Sierra Leone to help Sierra Leone to establish the Ebola Virus Testing Laboratory and Ebola Case Isolation and Control Center.
On January 21, 2016, the company completed the task of transporting supplies from China to Liberia in West Africa, with total supplies of 59 tons transported.
On March 15, 2016, the company completed the task of carrying supplies from China to Guinea in West Africa, with total supplies of 103 tons transported.
On April 27, 2016, after the earthquake, the company completed the task of transporting the humanitarian relief supplies on 2 flights from China to Ecuador in South America, with the supplies of 183 tons transported.
On September 27 and 28, 2017, the company completed the task of carrying the humanitarian relief supplies on 2 flights from China to aid Bangladesh, with the supplies of 133 tons transported.
On October 1 and 8, 2017, the company completed the task of transporting the humanitarian relief supplies of 2 flights from China to aid Cuba after the hurricane, with the supplies of 192 tons transported.
In late July 2018, heavy rain kept hitting the Sepien Senamnoi hydropower station in Lao's southern Attapeu Province. As a result, the dam collapsed in the 23rd evening due to the raising reservoir level. After the incident, the disaster-hit area was in urgent need of tents, small rescue boats, clothes, bedding and other supplies. The Chinese government urgently provided relief supplies to the disaster-stricken area, which were carried by two charter planes (CK5001 and CK5003) to Vientiane, respectively on July 30 and July 31, 2018. It showed China's profound concerns to the affected people in Laos. More than 80 tons of supplies were delivered by charter planes including rescue boats, water purifiers, tents and other supplies urgently needed in the affected area. The successful transport of relief supplies in this emergency has fully demonstrated our sense of social responsibility and reliable corporate image.
